Once the medical students get through the MCI Exam for Foreign Medical Graduates, they have to do an internship of one rotatory in India to get permanently registered with the MCI or the National Medical Commission or the State Medical Council. The difficulty level is a bit high and while on internship, the aspirants can attempt NEET-PG, if they wish to pursue MD or MS.
FMGE & NEET-PG will be merged together and will be replaced by NEXT (National Exit Test), a common exit exam for Indian as well as Foreign Medical Graduates from 2022 onwards.
